Dear Friends of the POP-UP School,
As some of you may be aware, I am launching a new media series called The Originals. As I looked over the most popular posts in 2024, I noticed that the video interviews I cross-posted from other channels have been the most popular even among the paid subscribers.
This year, in partnership with Endemic and The Divinity School, I will now be hosting interviews with people who are doing the most original work in their fields, as well as being able to comment on the state of their particular field as it reflects the larger state of the world.
We have tried to make this change as seamless as possible, but we have since planned more substantial changes:
First, the subscription prices for this POP-UP School will drop dramatically— to $8/month or $ 90/year.
Regular posts will continue, but courses will not be included in the subscription prices — they will be listed here, but offered as a separeate venue.
The Originals series will be platformed off site. We are still tweaking the website, so please be patient. Look for a link in the upcoming week or so.
In the poll we took at the beginning of the AI Crash Course, the most reported lack of resources was in the area of skills. The Originals series is designed to build meta-skills like critical reasoning and trans-perspectival awareness. Therefore, instead of just publishing recorded interviews, each interview will be premiered as a live on-line watch party, where we can clarify and build on the key insights in the conversation.
More to say about the series later…
If you are already a yearly paid subscriber to the POP-UP School -
you will get a free one-year membership on the Originals platform, in addition to having all access to the POP-UP School content.
Next steps
We will first send out a sign-up link for the Originals Newsletter to make sure you stay in the loop. I will link to that sometime in the coming week.
Thanks for all your support and your patience while we transition.
In the meantime …
let me know in the comment section what you’d most like to see covered in the POP-UP School posts this year!
Be well.
Catchya online.

I was thinking that you have a lot of clear accurate sensemaking about a lot of topics. I couldn’t join Jan course, but the AI things that I’m reading from you sound just on point. So a possible direction would be to make that sense making more loud by creating something like an animated videos that explain it more clearly for a wider audience.
I just want in to absorb everything you got “o sweetheart of my elder development” into the future. I want what we are all building together. Yayyyy.
